Brief introduction of sorts and performance characteristics of scale inhibitors
In water treatment, the commonly used scale inhibitors are polyphosphate, organic phosphonic acid, phosphonic acid, organic phosphonic acid, polycarboxylic acid, etc..
Commonly used phosphates are sodium tripolyphosphate and six sodium hexametaphosphate. The addition of trace amounts of polyphosphate to water destroys the normal growth of crystals such as calcium carbonate, thereby preventing formation of calcium carbonate scale. It is a common method for preventing scale in the early urban water distribution system or DC cooling system. Polyphosphate, which is readily decomposed to form orthophosphate, can promote the growth of bacteria and algae. Thus, the use of polyphosphate alone has been phased out and replaced by phosphate compounds. 
2) organic phosphonic acid scale inhibitor
Commonly used are ATMP, HEDP, EDTMPS, DTPMPA, PBTCA, BHMT and so on. It has a good effect on inhibiting the precipitation or precipitation of calcium carbonate, hydrated iron oxide or calcium sulfate.

The synergistic effect of PBTCA with zinc salt and polyphosphate can produce good synergistic effect.
3) organic phosphonate
The effect of organic phosphonate on calcium sulfate scale inhibition is better, but the effect of inhibiting calcium carbonate scale is poor. Although it is difficult to hydrolyze than polyphosphate, it is easy to hydrolyze and produce phosphoric acid. Organophosphorus esters are very toxic to aquatic organisms, and their slow hydrolysis products are biodegradable and therefore have little impact on the environment. It is commonly used in combination with polyphosphate, zinc salt, lignin, and benzotriazole three.
4) polycarboxylic acid scale inhibitor and dispersant
Polycarboxylic acid compounds have a good scale inhibition effect on calcium carbonate scale, and the dosage is very little. Commonly used polyacrylic acid PAA, hydrolysis maleic anhydride, HPMA, AA/AMPS, copolymer and so on.
Mainly used in various industries of water coolers, oil coolers, condensers, air coolers, evaporators, radiators, reactors, absorption towers, storage tanks, pipelines and other equipment corrosion and scale inhibition.
